Fishing Derby

This was a great day! We had 51 children attend along with their families. The weather was very nice, it was even a little hot at times. The ice cream was a big hit, it was donated along with a lot of the food by US Foods. Everyone who attended had a great time including the volunteers. The fish cooperated and were biting. The children were catching fish, crawfish, and toads.
We had several new volunteers along wth several who have volunteered for every fishing derby. Our thanks to them all as we could not have a successful fishing derby without them all! The Denver West Trout Unlimited attended and gave expert advice and help as well as manned the cooking and food stations. Division of Wildlife and their volunteers attended and set up fishing clinics to teach the children about fish and fishing related topics. Our professional clown who did excellent face painting and balloon art was Silly the Clown. We had representitives from The Sportsmen's Warehouse who provided help and bait for the children. This was our biggest derby yet!
