Journey 17
October 2, 2004
On October 2nd, 2004 an 18 year old young man from Greybull, Wyoming
was provided a Moose hunting trip to Canada. This young man has been fighting
ALL leukemia for 13 years. He has been through more than anyone should
ever have to endure, from chemo treatments, raditaion, surgery to a bone
marrow transplant. He went through all the treatments and was in remission
twice only to relapse and have to endure the treatments again and then
finally go through a bone marrow transplant. He is currently in remission.
He and his Grandfather flew from Sheridan, Wy to Grande Prairie Canada
and spent 7 days and nights hunting moose with Mighty Peace Outfitting.
The outfitter Derrel Johnson went out of his way to accodate them and
provided the hunt at a great discount. They had a great time and saw lots
of animals including a bear with 2 cubs. They saw moose but did not harvest
any. They came home with many stories to last a long time. Great Lakes
Airlines donated their portion of the journey to the young man so he could
fly from Sheridan, WY to Denver International. Joseph's Journey took care
of the rest of the journey. This journey was combined with journey #18
and the two boys enjoyed moose hunting together.
